Famous Ukrainian Tennis Player Elina Svitolina to Carry Ukraine’s Flag at the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina will carry the flag of Ukraine at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. She announced this in an exclusive commentary for Suspilne Sport in Paris.
At the previous Olympics in Tokyo, two athletes took part in this event for the first time - then the flag was carried by shooter Olena Kostevych and fencer Bohdan Nikishyn.
It is not yet known whether Svitolina will carry the flag alone or in a pair.
Svitolina will carry the flag of Ukraine as the current bronze medallist in tennis. She is the only tennis player in the history of Ukraine to win a medal in this sport at the Olympic Games.
Svitolina will be the third woman to carry the Ukrainian flag at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics. The first was Yana Klochkova in 2008.
