Viral Olympic Shooting Medallist to Play Assassin in TV Series
Olympic 10m shooting medallist Kim Yeji will soon make her acting debut. She will play the role of a hired killer in the South Korean series Crush, a spin-off of the short film series of the global film project Asia.
It was reported by The Guardian.
The Asia Project, directed by Lee Jung-sob, CEO of Seoul-based entertainment company Asia Lab, tells the stories of people who are fighting racism and discrimination.
Kim Yeji will play a killer in the series Crush. The film's cast includes American and Asian actors, including Indian TV actress and model Anushka Sen.
In a separate statement, Asia Lab said it was excited to see the ‘potential synergy that will arise from Kim Yeji and Anushka Sen's new transformation into a killer duo’.
Kim Yeji is a 32-year-old athlete who specialises in pistol shooting.
She made her international debut in 2010 at the World Shooting Championships in Munich, where she won bronze among juniors.
At this year's Olympic Games in Paris, she won silver in the women's 10m air pistol event, and her extremely calm demeanour, combined with her wire-rimmed glasses and baseball cap, has turned Kim Yeji into a global internet sensation.
