Finland Provides Ukraine with 21st Military Aid Package Totaling €106 Million
The President of Finland, at the initiative of the country's government, has approved the provision of a new military aid package to Ukraine. The 21st in sequence, this package amounts to €106 million, as reported by the Ministry of Defence of Finland.
"Finland aims to support Ukraine both in the short term and in the long run. The total value of defence equipment packages we have already supplied amounts to 1.6 billion euros," commented Finnish Defence Minister Antti Hakkanen.
As usual, the Finnish side refrains from disclosing details regarding the content and timing of the dispatch of this aid package to Ukraine due to operational considerations and ensuring the safe delivery of assistance. The Defence Ministry of Finland notes that the aid was provided taking into account the needs of Ukraine and the resource capabilities of the Finnish Armed Forces.
Finland had previously granted a military aid package of approximately €100 million in mid-November.
Yesterday, it was also revealed that Lithuania has provided Ukraine with another military aid package. A new shipment of military assistance from Lithuania has arrived at the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to reports, the Lithuanian armed forces transported and delivered essential field equipment and tens of thousands of dry rations to Ukrainian military personnel. Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas stated that diverse field equipment is particularly necessary for the troops during winter.
"We continue to do everything possible to ease Ukraine's difficult struggle against a brutal aggressor. Each of our support packages is an additional step towards victory," he said.
Recently, The Gaze reported that Denmark and Sweden have joined forces to supply Ukraine with 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, with preparations underway for additional deliveries. The joint efforts involve allocating almost 1.8 billion Danish kroner (approximately $264 million USD). While Ukraine has already received 50 IFVs, the allocated funds will cover spare parts, ammunition, and a long-term technical support agreement for CV90, ensuring logistical support for the combat vehicles after their delivery to Ukraine. Danish officials emphasize that funds will be allocated for ammunition, spare parts and a long-term agreement on technical support for the infantry fighting vehicles mentioned above. This will provide logistical backing for the combat vehicles after they are sent to Ukraine.
