France to Supply Ukraine with Robotic Demining Systems

Ukraine will receive six modern ROCUS unmanned demining systems from France for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels.
CNIM Systèmes Industriels will provide Ukraine with six modern ROCUS unmanned demining systems based on the THeMIS platform of the Estonian company Milrem Robotics.
The supply is funded by the French government and will be delivered to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
ROCUS is a robotic system for clearing areas of explosive hazards. This system allows for remote detection, identification and disposal of mines and other threats, significantly reducing the risk for deminers.
"We are proud to support Ukraine through our contract with CNIM Systèmes Industriels. The THeMIS platforms have already proven their effectiveness in combat conditions," said Kuldar Veersi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
These six new vehicles will complement the seven ROCUS systems already delivered to Ukraine in 2022. In total, Ukraine will receive 15 robotic platforms.
Milrem Robotics' THeMIS is the most widely used unmanned ground vehicle in its class, in service in 19 countries.
At a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence, Lithuania pledged €30 million in various forms of military assistance to Kyiv. Part of the funds will be implemented through the Lithuanian-led demining coalition.
In total, during the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence in Brussels, the participating states promised to increase military assistance to Ukraine by a total of €21 billion.
As The Gaze reported earlier, France has announced a €10 million contribution to the EBRD's Chornobyl Fund, which will further finance the repair of the protective shelter over Chornobyl's fourth power unit, damaged by a Russian drone.
