Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar Arrives in Kyiv

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has arrived in Kyiv for a diplomatic visit, marking the most senior Israeli delegation to Ukraine since February 2023, The Gaze reports, citing The Times of Israel.
His office confirmed the arrival on Monday, noting that further details of the visit will be released as it unfolds.
According to Ukrainian diplomatic sources, Sa’ar is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and a deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
He will also hold a meeting with representatives of the local Jewish community.
The foreign minister will stay overnight in the Ukrainian capital and is scheduled to return to Israel the following day.
As part of his visit, Sa’ar will also stop at the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial, a significant site where more than 33,000 Jews were murdered by Nazi forces during World War II.
The visit underscores ongoing ties between Ukraine and Israel at a time of heightened global instability and war in Eastern Europe.
This trip follows a February 2023 visit by former Foreign Minister Eli Cohen—now Israel’s Minister of Energy—making Sa’ar’s visit the highest-ranking diplomatic engagement by Israel in Ukraine in over a year.
As The Gaze previously reported, Israel has announced a new humanitarian aid package for Ukraine focused on providing clean water to civilians in war-torn regions facing severe infrastructure collapse due to ongoing Russian attacks.
