Kyiv Expects Russia to Intensify Disinformation Campaign Against Ukraine's EU Integration

The Centre for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine predicts an intensification of the Russian disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine's European integration.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Centre's post on social media.
As noted by the Centre, pro-Kremlin media and politicians are expected to continue promoting messages about the ‘threat’ that Ukraine's integration allegedly poses to Europe itself.
‘The Centre predicts that in the next two weeks, Russian propaganda will intensify its information campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine's European integration,’ the statement said.
At the same time, pro-Russian speakers will become more active, seeking and spreading arguments against Ukraine's membership, emphasising the ‘disunity of the position’ of EU countries or the ‘economic unattractiveness’ of Ukraine's integration.
This campaign aims to undermine trust in European institutions, cast doubt on the advisability of supporting Ukraine, and deepen divisions within the EU.
The Centre also predicts an intensification of propaganda messages about Ukraine as a ‘failed state’ that allegedly resorts to terrorism, as well as attempts to inject anti-mobilisation fakes and manipulations into the Ukrainian information space.
