Latvia Sends Another 1,500 Combat Drones to Ukraine

Latvia has handed over another 1,500 combat drones to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Defence Minister Andris Sprūds announced on social media platform X.
On 1 April, Sprūds said that another batch of 1,500 combat drones was being sent from Latvia to Ukraine.
‘Two Latvian companies will supply Ukraine with a total of 12,000 drones worth €17 million in the first half of this year as part of an international drone coalition,’ he said.
The coalition to strengthen Ukraine's drone capabilities was established in January 2024 under the leadership of the United Kingdom and Latvia.
As The Gaze reported, on 24 March, it became known that the Drone Coalition had allocated €20 million from a joint fund to purchase tactical-level intelligence drones for the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
On 28 March, the Swedish government instructed the Armed Forces to make payments to coalitions of forces and assets in the areas of demining and unmanned aerial vehicles under the Ramstein format.
