Lithuania to Hand Over 4,500 Drones Worth €5 Million to Ukraine Under Fast Track Procedure
Lithuania will hand over 4,500 drones worth €5 million to Ukraine this week, Lithuanian Defence Minister Dovile Šakalienė has announced on social media platform X.
‘I am pleased to announce that this week Lithuania is sending 4,500 drones to Ukraine worth 5 million euros,’ she wrote.
The minister also noted that at the last government meeting, an accelerated procedure for the transfer of state assets was approved. This will significantly reduce the time spent on bureaucratic procedures when transferring aid to Ukraine.
Earlier, the media reported that the delivery of drones had been delayed due to bureaucratic red tape.
At the end of 2024, the newly formed Lithuanian government visited Kyiv in almost its entirety.
In November, Lithuania also handed over another batch of military aid to Ukraine, including generators, spare parts for M113 armoured personnel carriers, weapons and ammunition.
