Majority of Ukrainians Back EU and NATO Membership, Poll Shows

Most Ukrainians support their country's accession to the European Union and NATO.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the results of a survey conducted by three well-known social services in Ukraine.
Almost 70% of Ukrainians are ready to vote for joining the EU in the near future.
Ukrainians were asked how they would vote if a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the EU/NATO were held in the near future.
According to the respondents' answers, the number of people who would vote for Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO is approximately the same: 68.9% for the EU and 62.5% for NATO.
20.1% of Ukrainians would vote against joining the EU, and 25.4% against joining NATO. An equal number of respondents, 2.9%, would not vote at all.
Two thousand Ukrainians took part in the poll, which was conducted from June 6 to 11. Personal interviews were conducted with respondents over the age of 18.
The survey was not conducted in Crimea, which is temporarily occupied by Russia, in the occupied territories of Luhansk region, as well as in the temporarily occupied territories and territories where active hostilities are taking place in Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions.
In the fall, sociologists found that the number of Ukrainians who believe in rapid accession to the European Union has decreased by almost 4.5 times compared to 2022, when such people accounted for more than 60%.
And in January, a poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology showed that most Ukrainians want to see their country in both the European Union and NATO, but joining the defense alliance is a higher priority.
