Massive Nighttime Missile Attack by Russia on Ukraine’s Energy - Poland Scrambled Fighter Jets for Monitoring

Last night, the Russian army once again launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, with explosions in Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions. Air defence forces were deployed in Lutsk, and in Ivano-Frankivsk, there was damage to houses and a kindergarten. Poland has been sending up fighter jets to observe Russian strikes in Ukraine.
Energy facilities in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv regions were attacked. At one of the facilities in Zaporizhzhia, two people were injured in the shelling and hospitalised.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Equipment at the facilities was damaged. During the shelling, an overhead power line in the eastern region was disconnected, which led to a decrease in the load at the generating facility. The consequences are being investigated.
During the nighttime missile attack on Ukraine by Russia, Poland sent military aircraft into the air.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported this on social media platform X.
It was noted that at night, intensive activities of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation were observed, associated with strikes using cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles such as "Shahed" and ballistic missiles, which are inflicted on objects located, in particular, in the western territory of Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Poland reported that the last such increased activity of Russian aviation, during which strikes were carried out in western Ukraine, was recorded on the night of 14 June 2024.
