A music festival in Malaysia called Good Vibes was cancelled after British singer Matty Healy criticised the country's anti-LGBT laws on stage and then kissed his bandmate.

This was reported by CNN.

The lead singer of the band "The 1975" Matty Healy stressed that he considers it absurd to invite a band to perform at a festival in Malaysia and then tell the musicians "who they can have sex with".

"Unfortunately, you're not going to get a set with a bunch of uplifting songs, because I'm fucking pissed. And it's not fair to you because you are not representatives of your government. You're young people, and I'm sure many of you are gay and progressive," said Matty Healy, addressing the audience from the stage.

For their part, representatives of the Good Vibes festival announced the cancellation of all further events of the music event "following the controversial behaviour and statements of British artist Matty Healy from The 1975".

Earlier, the Ministry of Communications and Digital of Malaysia issued a directive demanding the immediate cancellation of the Good Vibes festival, emphasising its unwavering rejection of actions and statements "that challenge, ridicule or violate Malaysian laws".

In Malaysia, all forms of homosexuality are prohibited. Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by heavy fines and imprisonment for up to 20 years.

The day before, Germany hosted the 45th annual Christopher Street Day Pride, which was attended by approximately 500,000 people.

The Berlin Pride in support of the rights of LGBT communities is considered one of the largest in the world.

"The rainbow flag also flies over the Reichstag. It is a symbol of solidarity and an indication that much remains to be done politically to increase equality and combat discrimination. Love is for everyone," said Katrin Göring-Eckardt, Vice President of the Bundestag, on Twitter.

Among the participants was a Ukrainian column with the motto "Be Pride Like Ukraine". Representatives of the Ukrainian LGBT community carried Ukrainian LGBT flags, shouting slogans such as "The war is not over" and "Glory to Ukraine".

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeev, also joined the pride. He wrote about it on his Twitter account.

"Freedom. Equality. Diversity. These are the values that we celebrate today in Berlin and at the same time defend in Ukraine," the Ukrainian diplomat said.

In total, about 70 organised columns marched through the streets of the German capital this year.
