New Estonian Government Sworn In
The new Estonia’s government, headed by reformer Kristen Michal, was sworn in before parliament (Riigikogu) on Tuesday morning.
This was reported by ERR.
After taking the oath, the new Estonian government officially began work.
New Prime Minister Michal read the oath out loud, and the rest of the ministers - with the exception of Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur, who is away on a business trip - signed it.
After the Michal government was sworn in, Estonian President Alar Karis officially dismissed the Kaja Kallas government.
Eight ministers from the previous Kallas government, including the important for Ukraine heads of the Ministry of Defence Hanno Pevkur and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna, retained their positions.
As The Gaze previously reported, last week Kaja Kallas resigned as Prime Minister of Estonia due to her planned appointment as the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The next day, Estonian President Alar Karis instructed Kristen Michal of the Reform Party to form a new government.
