Plane Stuck at Airport in Portugal as 132 Hamsters Escape
In Portugal, a TAP plane was stranded at Ponta Delgada airport in the Azores for five days after 132 hamsters chewed through shipping boxes and broke free in the luggage compartment. This was reported by the Correio da Manhã newspaper.
The Airbus A321Neo was supposed to fly to Lisbon without passengers to undergo an inspection at the company's base, but the flight was delayed due to the rodents.
It took five days for maintenance workers to catch all the hamsters that got out.
After that, the publication notes, the plane flew to Lisbon without incident.
