PM Starmer: United Kingdom Ready and Willing to Deploy Troops in Ukraine

The United Kingdom is ready and willing to deploy its troops in Ukraine as a security guarantee, if necessary. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, The Telegraph reports.
‘This decision was not taken lightly,’ the British prime minister stressed.
This is the first time he has explicitly stated that he is considering the deployment of British peacekeepers in Ukraine. He arrived for a meeting with European leaders in Paris today.
‘The UK is ready to play a leading role in accelerating work on security guarantees for Ukraine. This includes continued support for the Ukrainian military, for which the UK has already committed £3 billion a year until at least 2030,’ Starmer wrote.
He stressed that he was going to the meeting in Paris with a message for his European colleagues.
‘We need to show that we are serious about our own defence and carry our own burden. We've been talking about this for too long - and President Trump is right to demand action,’ Starmer said.
He also added that European countries should increase defence spending and play a greater role in NATO. Starmer explained that the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war cannot be a ‘temporary pause’ before Putin attacks again.
