President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on nearly 200 world leaders to unite and create a global front against Russian aggression in his address to the United Nations General Assembly on the eve.

This marked his first personal appeal to the global organization since Russia's military invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Zelensky warned of the threat posed by Russia's nuclear weapons and the weaponization of food products, energy facilities, nuclear power plants, and AI (Artificial Intelligence). He stated, 'While nuclear weapons are not being used, mass destruction is gaining momentum. The aggressor is turning many other things into weapons, and these things are being used not only against our country but also against all of you.'

He accused Russian leaders of terrorism and genocide and emphasized that the aggressor, Russia, is turning food, nuclear energy, and even Ukrainian children from occupied territories into weapons. He added, 'The aggressor and all its methods of war must be restrained, just as nuclear weapons are.'

Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian ports on the Black and Azov Seas have been blocked and constantly shelled by Russia, causing destruction of Ukrainian grain reserves.

Volodymyr Zelensky called on world leaders to unite and resist Russia's aggression rather than discussing matters behind closed doors. He said, 'Many seats in the General Assembly hall may remain vacant if Russia succeeds in its betrayal and aggression.'

'As long as Russia pushes the world toward the final war, Ukraine is doing everything to ensure that no one in the world dares to attack any country after Russian aggression. Weaponization must be restrained. There must be punishment for war crimes. Deported people must return home. And the occupier must return to its land. We must unite to achieve this. And we will,' emphasized the President of Ukraine.

He noted that Ukraine's proposed 'Formula of Peace' includes steps to halt all forms of weaponization that Russia has employed against Ukraine and other countries, which could also be used by other aggressors.
