Russia Fails to Deliver Promised Memorandum, Undermining Peace Talks – Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of deliberately stalling the war and deceiving global partners by failing to follow through on its diplomatic commitments—most notably, the promised memorandum on ceasefire negotiations, The Gaze reports.
Speaking in Kyiv on Wednesday following his return from Germany, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia has yet to share the so-called “memorandum” it pledged to prepare and distribute to Ukraine and key international mediators, including the United States and Turkey.
“Even Turkey, which hosted the initial round of talks, has not received the new agenda,” Zelenskyy said. “Although they promised the opposite—especially to the United States and President Trump.”
Zelenskyy called it yet another example of Russia’s ongoing disinformation tactics and empty diplomacy, saying Moscow is attempting to deceive countries that still try to influence it with “words instead of pressure.”
“Words don’t work with Moscow,” he said. “Russia is dragging out the war and doing everything to trick nations that still believe in dialogue over deterrence.”
The Ukrainian leader reiterated the urgent need for increased sanctions and stronger international pressure on the Kremlin, stating that Russia is actively trying to sabotage peace talks by rendering them meaningless.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukraine has confirmed its readiness to attend the next round of direct negotiations with Russia in Istanbul on June 2, but is urging Moscow to submit its ceasefire proposal in advance to avoid an unproductive meeting.
