Russian Attacks on Ukraine Result in 8 Deaths and 24 Injuries, Including Children

Russian military attacks have claimed the lives of at least eight Ukrainian civilians and injured 24 others over the past 24 hours, with children among the victims. The intensified bombardment of Ukrainian towns and cities comes as Kyiv continues to call for an unconditional ceasefire.

Ukrainian Air Force officials reported that air defenses successfully intercepted 37 of the 100 drones launched by Russia in overnight strikes. However, 47 additional decoy drones were undetected, causing no reported damage.
In the northern part of Ukraine, Chernihiv Region, a Russian drone strike on the Semenivka community resulted in the death of a 68-year-old man.
Additionally, in the northeastern part of the country, Sumy Region reported a civilian fatality as a result of Russian missile and drone strikes, which targeted the region with nearly 20 KAB bombs.
Meanwhile, in Dnipropetrovsk Region, in the central-eastern area, a young 12-year-old girl was killed and two others injured in the Samar district during a drone attack. Another five people were wounded in other parts of the region. The governor of Dnipropetrovsk, Serhii Lysak, confirmed the tragic loss of life.
Further south, in the Donetsk Region, Russian airstrikes led to the deaths of five civilians and injuries to four others. Among the victims were three people in Novoekonomichne, and one in Shakhove.
Meanwhile, in the Kharkiv Region, two men aged 61 and 65 were injured by missile strikes, with over 50 aerial weapons launched against the region.
In the southern part of Ukraine, Kherson Region also faced heavy bombardment, leaving 12 people injured and significant damage to infrastructure, including apartment buildings and agricultural facilities.
In Kyiv, a recreational center was set ablaze by falling debris from Russian attacks, leaving one woman injured, according to Mayor Vitali Klychko.
In response to the ongoing air assaults, NATO has heightened security measures, with Romanian and Italian fighter jets conducting air surveillance over Romania’s airspace to monitor potential threats.
As the war continues to devastate Ukrainian territories, Kyiv remains resolute in its demand for a full ceasefire, while Russia's attacks show no signs of abating. The situation remains dire as authorities across Ukraine scramble to assist the victims of these relentless strikes.
