UK Imposes New Sanctions on Russia's Defence Industry and Companies in China, Turkey, and Central Asia
The UK has announced new sanctions against the Russian military-industrial complex. They further restrict the supply of vital military equipment that Russia needs for the war in Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement on the UK government's website.
The new sanctions target key companies that supply arms, materials and technologies to Russia's military industry.
In total, the new list includes 28 suppliers of machine tools, microelectronics, components for drones and goods for the Russian military-industrial complex.
The new list also includes Ak Bars, a company that manufactures ships for the Russian navy, and Radioautomatika. It produces electronics for military systems, as well as Almaz-Antey Corporation, which supplies air defence systems.
The additional sanctions also apply to individuals holding senior positions in these companies, as well as to senior officials involved in military contracts.
The UK's additional sanctions also affect organisations from China, Turkey and Central Asia that assist Russia in the production of weapons.
