Ukraine is preparing seven new bilateral security agreements, including one with the United States of America. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in a statement, as reported by Ukrinform.

"Today is a day dedicated to our international work — the results needed by Ukraine in May and June. We are preparing seven more security documents for our state — bilateral security agreements. This includes a security agreement with the United States," he noted.

President Zelenskyy also stated that Ukraine has already fully implemented its obligations to start negotiations on EU accession in June of this year. "We are working to avoid delays or misunderstandings from the EU. We are preparing all the details, steps, and communication aspects together with our international team. And I thank everyone who is helping. This year, we must maintain the situation and achieve new goals in each of our strategic directions. The EU, the actual start of negotiations, our convergence — this is one of those directions," the president added.

Additionally, President Zelenskyy discussed preparations for the Global Peace Summit. According to him, preparations are in the final stages.

"Today, we finalized the finishing touches, and we are also working as actively as possible to have as many leaders and countries at the Summit as possible. This is crucial. The world can stop any aggressor. If we act in unity and according to the rules of the majority, no aggression can withstand truly global pressure. And together, we must force Russia to make peace. In the coming weeks, there will be a lot of work, including non-public work with partners, to ensure that the Summit is truly substantive," the president noted.

As a reminder, The Gaze reported that Switzerland will host the Global Peace Summit initiated by Ukraine on June 15-16 at the Bürgenstock resort in the canton of Nidwalden near Lucerne. Invitations to the summit will be sent to approximately 100 countries worldwide. The event is expected to serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on ways to achieve comprehensive, fair, and sustainable peace in Ukraine based on international law and the UN Charter. The Peace Summit aims to create a common understanding of frameworks that will contribute to achieving this goal.
