Ukraine to Receive €100 Million in 'Winter' Aid From Germany
The German government plans to provide an additional €100 million in aid to Ukraine this winter.
This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during a visit to Moldova, Reuters reports.
According to the agency, Baerbock stressed before the ministerial conference in Chisinau that Russia is once again planning a ‘winter war to make life as horrible as possible for people in Ukraine.’
Ukraine's energy system is still recovering from nine massive Russian attacks, with power shortages and emergency and scheduled repairs continuing at power facilities.
Recently, the European Commission said it was working to increase the maximum volume of electricity supplies to Ukraine before the approach of winter.
Later, the European Commission announced the allocation of an additional €40 million to Ukraine amid ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
On 11 September, the Confederation of Finnish Industries began collecting donations of energy equipment and machinery to help Ukraine.
As The Gaze previously reported, the Swedish government decided on 5 September to allocate almost €44 million to support heat and power supply in Ukraine.
