Ukraine, US Agree to Strike Deal on Critical Minerals

Following talks in Saudi Arabia on 11 March, the presidents of the United States and Ukraine agreed that an agreement on the joint development of critical mineral resources in Ukraine should be concluded 'as soon as possible'.
This is stated in a joint statement by Ukraine and the United States following the talks, which was posted on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The statement reads that ‘the presidents of both countries agreed to conclude a comprehensive agreement on the development of Ukraine's critical mineral resources as soon as possible’.
As emphasised, this is necessary ‘to strengthen Ukraine's economy and guarantee Ukraine's long-term prosperity and security’.
As The Gaze reported, on 28 February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump failed to sign an agreement on joint mining in Ukraine. During their press conference at the White House, a dispute arose and they did not reach an agreement. The Ukrainian president left the White House early after the US president's ambiguous and contradictory statements.
