Ukraine’s FM Urges NATO Unity at Hague Summit Amid Record Russian Airstrikes

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha addressed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Spring Session with a strong appeal for unity and decisive action from Alliance members ahead of the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague, The Gaze reports.
Speaking via video link, Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine considers its presence at the summit both at the highest political level and in its outcomes to be crucial. He called for the summit to deliver strong signals of “unity, strength, and resilience” as Russia intensifies its aerial attacks against Ukraine.
“In the last three days alone, Russia has launched a total of 995 missiles and drones against Ukraine. Last night, Russia carried out a combined attack using 364 drones and missiles — an absolute record of terror,” Sybiha stated. “This clearly proves that Putin is not seeking peace. He seeks only war, destruction, and death.”
The Ukrainian foreign minister urged NATO members to use all available diplomatic, political, economic, and military tools to strip Russia of its illusions of victory.
“Increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, combined with military and financial support for Ukraine, is the right response to Russia’s mockery of peace initiatives,” he said.
Sybiha reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peaceful efforts and insisted that Kyiv continues to advocate for a full and unconditional long-term ceasefire.
He also highlighted Ukraine’s continued implementation of NATO standards and best practices, noting that the country is blending them with domestic innovations. He briefed the assembly on achievements in Ukraine’s defense industry and reaffirmed the country’s goal of boosting defense self-sufficiency — not just for Ukraine, but for Europe as a whole.
As The Gaze previously reported, after Russia heavily shelled Ukraine for the third night in a row, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States and Europe to show strength against Moscow to force it to cease fire.
