Ukrainian Judokas Win Team Event and Take First Place at European Cup in Slovenia
Ukrainian judokas have won the team event and taken first place at the European Cup stage in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia, reports the Judo Federation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The first competition day on 29th June brought seven medals for the Ukrainian team, three of which were gold.
The tournament winners were Nazar Viskov (weight category up to 60 kg), Artem Sorochan (66 kg), and Anna Kazakova (up to 78 kg).
Bronze medals were awarded to Oleksandr Klepinin (60 kg), Hlib Dubina (66 kg), Alisa Vedeniyeva (70 kg), and Diana Semchenko (over 78 kg).
Today, the second day of competition added five more medals. Gold medals were secured by Magomed Hakimov from Zaporizhzhia (weight category up to 81 kg) and Oleksiy Boldyrev from Sumy (90 kg).
Kyiv's Ivan Kutenkov (90 kg) took silver, while bronze medals were won by Taras Nielziev from Kropyvnytskyi (81 kg) and Tatiana Limzayeva from Sumy (52 kg).
Overall, Ukrainian judokas secured 12 medals – 5 gold, 1 silver, 6 bronze – and took first place in the team event.
Ukraine is represented in Slovenia by 27 men and 12 women.
The next stage of the Junior European Cup will take place on 6-7 July in Prague, Czech Republic.
