Zelensky : I Believe the US Has Power To Convince Russia to End the War
The president replied to the questions of journalists.
The Gaze reports on it according to chat with journalists.
First of all, I would like to reiterate everything I said earlier – I believe that the United States has this power to convince Russia to end the war. And so does President Trump. And I believe that we should not look for an alternative to the United States, because all the alternatives are questionable: will they be able to do it? To be honest, I believe that this should be a diplomatic victory for the United States, not a defeat, and therefore Putin must be stopped. Who else? Probably representatives of the Middle East. But I believe that the United States still has a better chance. Who else? Europe, the Coalition of the Willing — that's Europe plus our friends from Canada and Japan. But they are still at the negotiating table in one capacity or another. And then, probably, China could, but we definitely don't see any desire on China's part to end this war.
There is intensity in our meetings – between us and the United States of America, with Europe also joining in. This is already a demonstration. It is an intense demonstration that we are counting on the end of the war. We want this very much, and we are demonstrating it. We are not just talking, we are doing, we are working on various documents. All these documents are important – the 20-point plan, security guarantees, and prosperity, as we say – this is the restoration of our state after the end of the war.
Demonstrations on the part of Russia, the desire and readiness to end the war, to be honest, I do not see yet. Although our colleagues from the United States of America say that Russia wants an end to the war. Well, it wants to, you know how it is – it wants to, but it can't. That's why we haven't seen it yet. But I think that thanks to the persistence of our American partners, God willing, we will be able to stop the Russian war.
