U.S. Tech Firm Axon Offers UAV Countermeasure Support to Ukraine

The American technology company Axon, known for its innovations in public safety and defense technology, has expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with Ukraine in the field of counter-drone systems and electronic warfare.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.
During a visit to Kyiv, Axon CEO Rick Smith and Dedrone by Axon CEO Aaditya Devarakonda met with Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Serhii Boiev to discuss potential collaboration with Ukrainian manufacturers and share expertise in countering hostile unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The discussions centered on Ukraine’s current technological needs and the framework for potential information exchange and joint development.
“Ukraine is facing serious challenges in countering enemy UAVs to protect the population, so we are primarily interested in electronic warfare technologies and interceptor drones,” Boiev said following the meeting.
Axon representatives stressed that their visit was driven not by commercial interests but by a commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense against aerial threats.
“Our proposal today is not about business, but about the issue of protecting people,” said Axon CEO Rick Smith. “We are inspired by Ukrainian soldiers and the technologies they are using, so it is an honor for us to work together and learn from this experience.”
Dedrone, which was acquired by Axon in 2024, specializes in AI-powered airspace security systems and has deployed counter-UAV platforms globally.
Both companies see Ukraine as a critical partner in developing and testing next-generation drone defense capabilities.
