World Premiere of Ukrainian Film 'The Daughter' to Take Place at Polish Film Festival
On 13 October, the 40th Warsaw International Film Festival will host the world premiere of the film The Daughter by Ukrainian director Yegor Olesov.
This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine on Facebook.
The film tells the story of the events in the Kyiv region related to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
This is the directorial debut of Yegor Olesov, a well-known Ukrainian film director and producer of 'Mavka. The Forest Song', 'Zakhar Berkut', and 'The Price of Truth'.
The Daughter is the first Ukrainian film to be shot using the single-frame technology. Examples of this technology include films such as 1917 by Sam Mendes and Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The film was created by United Heroes and produced by Yegor Olesov and Olha Maksiuk.
The Daughter is scheduled for release in Ukraine in 2025.
The documentary Family Album by Maryna Tkachuk will also be screened at the Warsaw Film Festival.
