A new round-the-world train route will be launched on 28 August 2024 by Railbookers. The 80-day journey, which covers 13 countries on four continents, creates a new, incredibly glamorous way to travel the planet. Travellers will travel on seven of the most luxurious trains in the world, enjoying world-class dining and private cabins. The price of the trip also includes accommodation in amazing hotels. Along the way, travellers will see stunning natural landscapes, UNESCO World Heritage sites and 20 fabulously beautiful cities.
The epic round-the-world itinerary begins in Vancouver, where you'll board a Rocky Mountaineer for three days of travel through the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise and Banff National Park.
Next up is Edinburgh and a week-long tour of the lochs and peaks of the Highlands on the Belmond Royal Scotsman.
A journey from Paris to Venice on the Belmond Venice-Simplon Orient Express follows Scotland.
Then it's on to the Taj Mahal, with six nights on The Maharajas Express from Delhi to Mumbai.
The Golden Eagle Danube Express, departing from Istanbul, will take passengers through Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary over four nights, passing castles and hilltop villages in southeastern Europe.
Finally, a three-day flight from Pretoria to Cape Town via Rovos Railways, together with a flight to Singapore, where passengers will board the newly relaunched Orient Express to Malaysia.
You can find a detailed day-by-day itinerary on the website.
Railbookers says they have designed this trip to meet the growing demand for luxury rail travel, and they aim to bring back and celebrate the joy of slow travel, with plenty of time for sightseeing and sights.
However, this wonderful route will cost you a fortune. Ticket prices for the full three-month itinerary start at £90,099 (€103,495, $113,599).
The ticket includes hotel accommodation, car transfers, several flights, meals and excursions, a stay at a safari lodge, and a climb to the Eiffel Tower.
The route is also available for booking in separate segments, so you can customise your own trip.
