Belgium to Provide €1 billion Aid Package to Kyiv

Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever announced a €1 billion aid package for Ukraine in Kyiv, The Gaze reports, referencing Ukrainian media.
“Our Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot is here, as well as our Defense Minister, who is proud to announce a new decision on a one billion aid package for 2025 with the ambition to provide at least one billion every year during my term as part of bilateral military aid,” de Wever stated during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
De Wever also confirmed that Belgium will supply Ukraine with two F-16 fighter jets for spare parts in 2025, with plans to supply two more F-16s in 2026. Last year, the Belgian government announced it would provide Ukraine with 30 F-16 fighter jets by 2028.
Additionally, the Belgian Prime Minister mentioned that Defense Minister Theo Francken has a list of initiatives that Ukraine and Belgium will implement "in a very short time in the near future."
As The Gaze previously reported, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot and Defence Minister Theo Francken arrived in Kyiv on 8 April.
