The Danish Armed Forces are preparing to send their soldiers to Ukraine to learn directly from the Ukrainian military’s frontline experience — a powerful testament to Ukraine’s evolving role as a global hub of modern warfare expertise, The Gaze reports, with reference to European Pravda.

Major General Peter Boysen, Commander of the Danish Army, confirmed that several teams of Danish soldiers will attend courses in Ukraine. The soldiers, who will be unarmed, are to come from various army regiments and will not participate in combat.

The key focus of their training is to study the innovative tactics and rapid technological advancements, particularly in drone warfare, developed by the Ukrainian military over three years of full-scale conflict.

“In my 42 years of service in the armed forces, I have never seen events develop so quickly,” said Boysen after observing training with modern attack drones similar to those used at the frontline.

Boysen has already made two visits to Ukraine in recent months and is now pushing to speed up the learning process by dispatching more teams. The training courses, lasting one to two weeks, could begin as early as this summer. Both instructors and soldiers will take part. The training is expected to take place in safer regions, such as Lviv in western Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen has expressed strong disapproval of the plan. Despite Russia’s objections, Denmark’s decision to send its troops for training underlines a broader international recognition of Ukraine’s hard-earned military knowledge — and signals how Kyiv is setting new standards in 21st-century warfare.

As The Gaze previously reported, the Danish government has decided to provide Ukraine with the 25th military assistance package worth $970 million, which will support the country in the period from 2025 to 2027.
