Exhibition of Children's Drawings 'Formula of Peace in the Creativity of Children from Ukraine and the World' Opens in Moldovan Parliament
On 3 February, an exhibition of children's drawings entitled "The Formula of Peace in the Art of Children of Ukraine and the World" opened in the Moldovan Parliament.
According to the press service of the legislature, the exhibition will be open until the end of February.
The exhibition features about 200 drawings made by 200 children from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine aged 4 to 18 from art schools and refugee centres in the country. The children's works convey peace as they understand it.
The exhibition presents a variety of meaningful messages from the children inspired by the 10 themes proposed in the competition: "We are the children of Ukraine - messengers of peace on earth", "Our defenders are angels of peace", "Quiet sky above. Earth", "Ukraine - the country of my dreams", "My living land Ukraine - Prayer for the victory of Ukraine - Man and Nature", "A seed of hope", "Good and evil", "NO to environmental disaster" and "NO to any aggression!".
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Chairman of the Parliament Ihor Grosu, Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Mark Shevchenko, as well as MPs, officials, students and teachers from art schools and refugee centres.
"Who else but children can pass on to us the most, who else, but children, can convey to us the deep, profound messages that we adults sometimes fail to notice. I am sure that one day soon, we will all return to what we want so much: peace, tranquillity, and prosperity, so that these children can live and become who they want to be," Grosu said in his speech.
Ambassador of Ukraine Marko Shevchenko also praised the children's work: "These drawings are made in different techniques, different colours, but they have a lot in common. Ukraine has developed a political plan on how we can achieve peace, which is presented by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is called the Peace Formula. I hope that this exhibition will make an important contribution to the world we are building."
The exhibition is part of the international project "The Formula for Peace in the Art of Children from Ukraine and the World", initiated by the Lviv Children's Gallery Charitable Foundation from Ukraine with the support of the International Women's Club of Moldova and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova.
