China can force Russia to end its war against Ukraine. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with French media, Ukrinform reports.

"If China wants, it can force Russia to end this war. I would like them to have no mediation mission. I would like them to put pressure on Russia to end the war, just like the United States is putting pressure and just like the EU is putting pressure, the more pressure there will be on Russia, not vice versa, then there will be a quick result," Zelenskyy said.

He also added that he would like "China to have a principled position based on international law".

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Kyiv does not want China to mediate with Russia, but hopes that Beijing will put more pressure on Moscow to end the war, Reuters reports.

Last week, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited China for the first time since the start of Russia's full-scale military invasion of Ukraine and held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
