Poland's Security Forces Say Fall of Assad's Regime in Syria Is Russia's Defeat
Poland's security forces have said that the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria is a defeat for Russia and evidence that Russia is unable to conduct hostilities in several theatres of war.
This was stated on Monday by Cezary Tomczyk, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Poland, and Jacek Siewiera, Head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) of Poland.
‘This is Russia's defeat and another hotspot in the world that is being closely watched. This is another proof that Russia is a country of this axis of evil, which is doing everything to incite countries against the West to cause chaos around the world,’ Tomczyk said on Polish Radio.
According to him, Russia is trying to be active in many regions of the world, guided by its great-power ambitions. However, its capabilities, with the exception of its nuclear potential, do not meet these aspirations. Therefore, it is forced to limit its involvement in other areas, focusing more attention on the Russian-Ukrainian front, the deputy minister of national defence said.
According to PAP, the head of BBN Poland, Siewiera, in turn, stressed that the fall of the Assad regime in Syria is important news for world powers, and that Russia has limited capabilities to conduct operations in several theatres of war.
‘Today, the Russian Federation, with its involvement in Ukraine, cannot conduct operations in many theatres,’ Siewiera stated.
As The Gaze previously reported, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, also reacted to the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, noting that she sees it as a sign of weakness in Russia and Iran.
