The legend of French cinema, world-famous actor Alain Delon passed away on Sunday at the age of 88.
Le Monde reports this with reference to a statement by the actor's children.
‘Alain-Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony (the children), and Lubo (his dog) are very sad to announce the death of their father. He passed away peacefully at his home in Douchy (French city) surrounded by his three children and family. His family asks you to respect their privacy during this extremely painful time of mourning,’ the statement reads.
Alain began his career in 1957, among the most famous works of the legend of French cinema are such films as The Leopard, Rocco and His Brothers, Le Samourai.
The actor's health deteriorated after suffering a stroke a few years ago. And in 2022, his son announced to the world that the actor intends to die by euthanasia.
From the beginning of his stardom, Alain Delon immediately became a sex symbol in France. His name became synonymous in the mass consciousness with the standard of male beauty.
He had many women: actress Romy Schneider, composer Nico, singer and actress Dalida, actress Mireille Darc, and others. However, he was officially married only once - to actress Nathalie Delon. This marriage gave birth to his son Anthony.
Delon also has three other children: the late photographer Ari Boulogne with composer Nico, daughter Anouchka, and son Alain-Fabien with journalist Rosalie Van Breemen.
His last passion was Hiromi Rollin, whom he dated from 2021 to 2023.
Recently, the actor's name has often surfaced in tabloids due to the courts of his children, who, after their father's stroke, were unable to agree on issues related to his health. At the last court hearing, the actor was banned from disposing of his property for 5 years.
In addition, as The Gaze reported, Delon sued his son Anthony for defamation.
In April this year, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded Delon the Order of Merit for Ukraine.
