The Will to Win - Ukraine's Medal Standings at the Olympics 2024
In a fierce struggle, in an extremely difficult time for Ukraine, Ukrainians won 12 medals: 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.
This was reported by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
"Each performance of our athletes was not just the result of training, but a symbol of struggle, endurance and indomitability. Each athlete competed not only for medals but also for the honour of our country, showing the world that Ukraine has been, is and will be!" the statement said.
The NOC of Ukraine notes that in terms of the number of gold medals won, Ukraine has shown the best result over the past 12 years.
In particular, the awards went to:
- Olha Harlan, Olena Kravatska, Alina Komashchuk, Yuliia Bakastova (sabre fencing, team championship);
- Yaroslava Maguchikh (athletics, high jump);
- Oleksandr Khyzhnyak (boxing, weight class up to 80 kg);
- Serhii Kulish (bullet shooting, rifle shooting from three positions at a distance of 50 m);
- Ilya Kovtun (artistic gymnastics, parallel bars);
- Parviz Nasibov (Greco-Roman wrestling, weight category up to 67 kg);
- Lyudmila Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok (rowing, canoe double 500 m);
- Irina Kolyadenko (freestyle wrestling, weight category up to 62 kg);
- Olga Kharlan (sabre fencing, individual championship);
- Irina Gerashchenko (athletics, high jump);
- Mikhail Kokhan (athletics, hammer throw);
- Jean Beleniuk (Greco-Roman wrestling, weight category up to 87 kg).
