Trump Calls for Presidential Elections in Ukraine
He suggested that Zelensky could win.

US President Donald Trump, amid media reports that President Volodymyr Zelensky rejects territorial compromise as part of peace initiatives, said it was time to hold elections in Ukraine. He suggested that the current head of state could even win.
During an interview with Politico, the US president added that everyone in our country talks about democracy, but “at some point, it's no longer a democracy.” This was Trump's comment on the fact that, due to the full-scale war, the last elections in Ukraine were held in 2019.
"I think so. It's been a long time. Things aren't going very well. Yes, I think it's time. I think now is the time to hold elections. They are using the war as an excuse not to hold elections, but I think the Ukrainian people should have that choice,“ Trump said. ”And maybe Zelensky will win. I don't know who will win. But they haven't had elections in a long time."
