Ukraine Brings Home Another 90 of Its Defenders from Russian Captivity
Ukraine has carried out another prisoner exchange with the aggressor country Russia. On the evening of 25 June, 90 Ukrainians returned home: soldiers of the National Guard, Navy, Army, Territorial Defence, border guards and defenders of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Home is not just a word. Home is Ukraine. Today, 90 more of our people have returned home from Russian captivity. Soldiers of the National Guard, the Navy, the Army, terrorist fighters, border guards. Those who defended Mariupol. Those who defended the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Those who were on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk directions," Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that Ukraine remembers all its people in Russian captivity and is doing everything possible to bring them back.
"We continue to work for the release of each and every one of them. We are looking for the truth about everyone who may be held by the enemy. I am grateful to our team that deals with exchanges: Budanov, Yermak, Malyuk, Klymenko, Lubinets," the President of Ukraine said.
He also thanked all the partners who help and "the UAE for its assistance in the release of these people".
"Together we can achieve even the most difficult results," the President of Ukraine added.
As a reminder, in May, 75 soldiers and civilians were returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity as a result of the exchange. Earlier, on 14 June, Ukraine returned the bodies of 254 of its fallen defenders.
