Ukraine’s defense assistance, structured under the “Danish model,” is set to increase to €1.3 billion in 2025, marking a significant boost in military aid.

The Gaze reports on this with reference to the announcement of Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

This step comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia.

The initial tranche of €428 million will be allocated towards the production of domestically manufactured military equipment, including artillery, strike drones, rockets, and anti-tank systems.

Umerov emphasized that this agreement was a direct result of discussions with Denmark’s Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, highlighting the strong bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and its partners.

“The “Danish model” will scale up to €1.3 billion by the close of 2025, a critical part of our defense strategy,” Umerov stated in a Facebook post. Notably, a portion of these funds will be sourced from frozen Russian assets, further bolstering Ukraine’s military efforts while holding Russia accountable for its actions.

In addition to financial support for military production, Umerov outlined plans for further strategic initiatives. These include new investment opportunities for Ukrainian companies within the Ramstein framework and the establishment of European defense production facilities on Ukrainian soil.

As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov announced a major breakthrough in international military assistance following the 28th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, commonly known as the “Ramstein” format.

According to Umerov, Ukraine’s partners reaffirmed their strong and united support, with pledged aid for 2025 expected to exceed the total from all previous years of Russia’s full-scale war.
