Ukrainian Actor Takes Top Honour at Greek Film Festival
At the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece, Ukrainian actor Volodymyr Kravchuk won the Best Actor award for his leading role in the film You Are Space.
This was reported by the Kyiv Drama and Comedy Theatre on the Left Bank, where the actor has been working since 2019.
The international premiere of You Are Space took place at the Toronto Film Festival in September. The film has already won a number of film awards at international festivals.
The film is scheduled for release in Ukraine in spring 2025.
The film You Are Space, directed by Pavlo Ostrikov, is a Ukrainian sci-fi tragicomedy about a trucker who is almost the last person in the universe after the Earth explodes, until he contacts a French scientist. For three years, they fly towards each other.
As previously reported, two Ukrainian films will be screened at one of the largest European film festivals, Scanorama in Lithuania, which will take place from 7 to 21 November. We are talking about Roman Bondarchuk's comedy-drama film The Editorial Board, which will be shown in the Crossing Europe programme on 9 November in Vilnius and 13 November in Kaunas. Oksana Karpovych's film Intercepted will participate in the Main Competition Programme. The screenings will take place on 14 and 17 November in Vilnius and on 16 November in Kaunas.
