Ukrainian Olympic Champion Wins Gold at European Championships in High Jump
Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has won a gold medal at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
According to Suspilne Sport, Mahuchikh uchikh cleared 1m 99cm.
Angelina Topic (Serbia) took silver with a mark of 1m 95cm.
Engla Nilsson (Sweden) won the bronze medal with a height of 1m 92cm.
This is Yaroslava's third European Championship gold in a row. In 2021, when the event was hosted by the city of Toruń, the athlete showed a result of 2 m. Two years later, in Istanbul, Mahuchikh cleared 1m 98cm to take first place.
As The Gaze reported, according to World Athletics, Mahuchikh has been named the world's best athlete in non-running disciplines in 2024.
