Zelenskyy: Ukraine Strengthens Air Defense with New Patriot Systems from Germany
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has reinforced its Patriot component within the national air defense system, with support from Germany.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to a statement made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
According to him, this was the result of preliminary preparations and joint agreements with Berlin.
“I thank Germany and personally Chancellor Friedrich Merz for this joint step to protect lives from Russian terror,” the Head of State said.
Zelenskyy stressed that air strikes are Putin’s main bet in this war.
“Therefore, every strengthening of our air defense literally brings us closer to the end of the war, which we are all waiting for,” he added.
The President emphasized that Ukraine, together with its partners, continues to work on building a reliable air defense system that will be able to guarantee the security of not only Ukraine but also its partners.
Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the additional transfer of two more Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of 2025 with the support of Norway.
As The Gaze previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine and the United States are preparing a landmark contract for the supply of 25 Patriot air defense systems. Ukraine expects to receive several systems each year once the deal is signed.
