French Prosecution: Screen Icon Alain Delon Kept 72 Firearms at Home Without Any Permit

Police have seized 72 firearms from the home of French cinema legend Alain Delon. According to the French prosecution, the 88-year-old actor did not have permits for any of them, reports The Guardian.
The undeclared weapons were kept at the actor's rural residence in Douchy-Moncorbon, located 135 km south of Paris. Additionally, the house stored over 3000 rounds of ammunition and featured a shooting range. The search warrant for the actor's house was issued after a court-appointed official, visiting his home, noticed the firearms and reported it to the judge.
It's worth noting that Alain Delon has been in frail health since suffering a stroke in 2019 and has recently been embroiled in a family scandal with one of his sons, Anthony, who has made negative and insulting remarks about his father in the press.
In late January, a French court declared Alain Delon partially incapacitated, stripping him of the right to manage his own real estate. However, his children no longer have the authority to take him for medical examinations without his consent.
Furthermore, the court ruled that Delon's children would no longer have the authority to seek medical care for their father or authorize any treatments. The actor's health matters are to be overseen by a state-appointed official, likely the individual who reported the arsenal of undeclared weapons in the actor's residence.
Alain Delon officially announced his retirement from acting in 2017, and just two years later it was revealed that he had suffered a double stroke. He later underwent a complex operation, followed by a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
Currently, Alain Delon's fortune is estimated to be worth millions of euros. In June, he sold around 80 artworks at auction for over 8 million euros (£6.8 million).
Recall that The Gaze previously reported on the most anticipated premieres of this year at the Berlin Film Festival, including the thriller "Love, Lies and Bloodshed" starring Kristen Stewart, a new indie work by Killian Murphy, and the science fiction film "Astronaut" from the director of the "Chernobyl" series.
