International Mountain Film Festival Selects Winners: Three Ukrainian Films and Two French Ones
The winners of the V Carpathian Mountain International Film Festival were announced in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, during which the audience and critics watched and evaluated 30 films about mountains for three days.
This was reported by the Carpathian Mountain Film Festival on Facebook.
‘The winners of the V Carpathian Mountain International Film Festival have been announced. From 20 to 22 September at the Bavka Puppet Theatre in Uzhhorod, the audience watched 30 full-length and short films about mountains, tourism and society from more than 15 countries,’ the statement reads.
This year, the best films in the full-length, short, fiction, and animation nominations were the following, respectively: ‘Cupressus, directed by Mykola Nosok (Ukraine), What Have We Lost? directed by Marysia Nikitiuk (Ukraine), My Girl, directed by Caroline Ophelie (France) and Anteor, directed by Patrice-Joseph Blanc (France).
The organisers also reported that the festival raised over 18 thousand hryvnias. These funds will be used to purchase a bomber drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Carpathian Mountain International Film Festival is a cultural event in western Ukraine and promotes the development of cinema, tourism and awareness of the state of the environment in the region.
