New Meeting of Contact Group on Ukraine ‘Ramstein’ to Be Held on 9 January
A new meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine (Ramstein format) is scheduled for 9 January, Suspilne reports.
The meeting will be held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and will be chaired by US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.
This meeting will be the 25th in a row.
Previously, the Ramstein meeting was scheduled for December, with the option of summit talks being discussed.
The Ramstein format was created in 2022 to coordinate US military support for Ukraine under the auspices of the United States. It brings together more than 50 countries, the vast majority of which are NATO members.
Representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance do not see a significant chance that a change in the US administration will lead to the termination of the Ramstein format.
