Russia Understands Only Force, Zelenskyy Urges Decisive Response to Strike

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on international partners to deliver a resolute response after a massive overnight Russian attack on Kyiv left at least 15 people dead, including four children, and dozens injured.
The Gaze reports this, referring to Zelenskyy’s post on social media.
Writing on X, Zelenskyy condemned the assault as “a horrific and deliberate murder of civilians,” stressing that Moscow continues to escalate the war rather than seek peace.
“Russia does not choose to end the war – only new strikes,” he said. “Dozens of buildings in Kyiv were damaged this night: residential blocks, office centers, civilian enterprises. Among them is the building that houses the European Union’s representation in Ukraine.”
Alongside the damage to the EU mission building, Russia’s overnight strike also seriously damaged the office of the British Council in Ukraine. The organization said its premises will remain closed to visitors until further notice, though it continues to work with Ukrainian partners in education and culture despite possible delays in communication.
Ukrainian president underscored that it is vital for the international community to respond firmly, warning that Moscow must face consequences for every new attack.
“Russia must stop this war it started and continues. For its refusal to cease fire and constant attempts to evade negotiations, new strong sanctions are needed. Only this can work. Russians understand only force and pressure,” Zelenskyy stated.
Ukraine’s air defenses reported intercepting a huge number of incoming weapons during the assault: 563 drones, one Kinzhal hypersonic missile, seven Iskander ballistic missiles, and 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched since the evening of August 27.
