The Polish Commission "Against Russian Influence" Does Not Recommend Electing Donald Tusk to State Positions

The commission investigating Russian influence, in the Polish Sejm, has released an interim report recommending the prohibition of Donald Tusk from holding state positions.

It is noted that members of the commission investigating Russian influence, after analyzing declassified materials, reached a negative conclusion regarding former Prime Minister Donald Tusk and ministers Jacek Cichocki, Bogdan Klich, Tomasz Siemoniak, and Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz.

Andrzej Zybertowicz, a member of the commission, stated, "The commission recommends not trusting them with tasks, positions, and state functions related to responsibility for state security."

"Analyzing the available materials, including the testimony of the mentioned individuals during the prosecutor's investigation, we have the impression that politicians responsible for the country's security were not interested in the state's safety, and this area of their responsibility was not a priority," said Zybertowicz.

Additionally, Zybertowicz emphasizes the urgent need to review Poland's energy policy and assess Russia's real impact on the private sector, media, and foreign policy, as well as to monitor the activities of Polish market entities with Russian capital.

To recall, the State Commission for the investigation of Russian influences was created at the end of August this year. The commission included Professor Andrzej Zybertowicz, Professor Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski, and historian Professor Sławomir Cenckiewicz.

The main task of the commission was to analyze data from open sources to verify cases of information transfer to third parties and the adoption of 'harmful decisions' by senior officials in Poland from 2007 to 2022.

Last Wednesday, the Polish Sejm decided to dismiss all members of the Commission.

To recall, last month, The Gaze reported that the leaders of opposition parties 'Civil Coalition,' 'Third Way,' and 'Left' officially announced their readiness to form a coalition and nominate Donald Tusk for the position of prime minister.

Politicians also urged Polish President Andrzej Duda not to delay the convening of the first government meeting, tally the votes, and instruct the opposition's winning representative to form a new Polish government.

Earlier, the Polish party 'Law and Justice' criticized Tusk for insufficiently firm support for Ukraine and excessive closeness to Moscow.
