Ukraine to Complete EU Accession Preparations by 2027, Stefanishyna Forecasts

Olga Stefanishyna, who until 17 July held the position of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, stated that the Ukrainian government's objectives in preparing Ukraine for EU accession by the end of 2027 remain unchanged.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to European Pravda.
Stefanishyna answered questions about the goals of the Ukrainian authorities in the process of joining the EU.
‘To open all clusters in 2025. To complete the change in legislation so that it fully complies with EU law by the end of 2027,’ she said.
‘Even now, all the commitments we are making as part of the negotiation process without transition periods are limited to the end of 2027. That means we have 2025-26 to develop solutions and 2026-27 to adopt them,’ the former deputy prime minister noted.
According to her, an adaptation programme is currently being prepared, where this should be reflected.
"We have launched a large European Union project, Ukraine2EU, which helps with this. There are experts, there is a methodological base, there are developments. And as soon as the European Commission reports on each of the clusters, it will be possible to approve this programme in parts for each of the areas," Stefanyishyna said.
She also stressed that she has no reason to talk about a possible change of goals to less ambitious ones.
Olga Stefanishyna also confirmed that the opening of the first cluster of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU was being prepared for 18 July.
She also said that among the key tasks of her work as the president's representative for the development of cooperation with the United States will be the implementation of the agreement on minerals, as well as the organisation of a mechanism for the purchase of American weapons.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree appointing Olga Stefanishyna as the head of state's special representative for the development of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.
