Ukraine Wins Second Olympic Medal in Paris - Silver in Rifle Shooting
Ukrainian shooter Serhiy Kulish won a silver medal in the rifle final at the Paris Olympics at a distance of 50 metres.
This was reported by the Ukrainian news agency Suspilne Sport.
The athletes shot from prone, sitting and standing positions. The 31-year-old Ukrainian was among the contenders throughout the competition.
Before the elimination shoot-off, Kulish had a successful series and was in the intermediate first place, ahead of China's Liu Yukong.
Unfortunately, the Ukrainian later let the Chinese pass him, but he did not give up the silver medal to anyone else.
This was Kulish's last discipline in Paris. Earlier, Serhiy failed to make it to the final in air rifle shooting from 10 metres.
This is the Ukrainian's third Olympics in a row. At all the Games, he reached the finals.
At his debut Olympics in Rio 2020, Serhiy Kulish won a silver medal in the 10-metre air rifle event.
At the Tokyo 2020 Games, Kulish competed for a medal in this discipline, but in one of his attempts he accidentally hit someone else's target, which is why he took only 8th place.
As The Gaze previously reported, this is Ukraine's second medal at the 2024 Olympic Games. Earlier, fencer Olha Kharlan became a bronze medallist in the individual sabre tournament.
