Ukrainian President Engages Saudi Arabia in Implementing Peace Formula
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at an official visit to Saudi Arabia on February 27. There, he notably met with the Crown Prince, the country's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and discussed a range of issues, including the Ukrainian Peace Formula, as reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
"The leadership of Saudi Arabia can help find fair solutions. We are equally interested in ensuring global stability," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
Volodymyr Zelensky noted Saudi Arabia's willingness to assist in restoring a just peace in Ukraine. The parties also exchanged views on the current global situation and possible ways to end the war in Ukraine, as well as explored specific opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia in economic and technological spheres.
Following the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky and Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud instructed their respective teams to work on the discussed aspects.
On February 25, for the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion, Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed the number of Ukrainian servicemen who had died defending against Russia's armed aggression in Ukraine. The Ukrainian head of state announced this information during his own press conference, emphasizing that Ukrainian losses are much lower than what Russian propagandists and officials claim.
"We have lost 31,000 of our servicemen in this war. It's not 300,000, not 150,000, as Putin lies. But every lost life is a tragedy for us," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to Zelensky, Russia's losses amount to 180,000 dead servicemen and up to 500,000 wounded and killed combined (according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approximately 409,000).
Volodymyr Zelensky also assured that Ukraine has a military action strategy for the current year, with several scenarios considering the possibility of information leakage.
