Climate Minister Becomes Estonia's New Prime Minister, Will Form New Government

Estonian President Alar Karis has instructed the current Minister of Climate Kristen Michal of the Reform Party to form a new government.
Karis wrote about this in X.
Michal will replace Kaja Kallas, who resigned the day before due to her appointment as the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
"I have made an official offer to Kristen Michal to become a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Estonia and to start forming a new government," Karis said.
At the end of June, the Board of the Reform Party named Kristen Michal as a candidate for prime minister. He will run for the party's leadership at the congress on 8 September.
It is expected that the new government headed by Michal will start working in late July or early August.
As The Gaze previously reported, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, who is to take up the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, submitted her resignation to President Alar Karis on Monday.
