Polish President Calls for Support Until Victory in Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda has emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine until it achieves victory, stating that the Polish government, regardless of political affiliation, will continue to provide this support. He made this statement during a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö in Warsaw, as reported by PAP.
Duda expressed the belief that if Russia is not deterred, it may resort to aggression again. "We have no doubts that today our security depends on Ukraine," underscored the Polish President.
He added that support for Ukraine is evident for Poland, highlighting that Poland has already sent over 300 tanks, more than 100 armored vehicles, hundreds of thousands of weapons and ammunition units, as well as a significant quantity of body armor, helmets, and uniforms to Ukraine.
"As Poland, we support Ukraine and will continue to do so. In our view, this support should continue until a complete victory is achieved – that is, the restoration of internationally recognized borders. Ukraine must receive firm security guarantees, which, in our opinion, involve joining NATO. We support our neighbor on this path," stated Duda.
According to the Polish President, irrespective of the political spectrum, the Polish government must support Ukraine as it aligns with Polish and European interests.
It is worth noting that Estonia's Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, recently expressed the view that there is a war of attrition between Russia and Ukraine, but the situation is not hopeless. Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg expressed hope for progress by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in resisting Russian occupiers, acknowledging the difficulty of the task. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also believes that the war in Ukraine may persist for an extended period.
Recalling the 105th anniversary of Poland's independence, President Andrzej Duda called for significant strengthening of the country's armed forces. Duda emphasized the need to enhance military capabilities to ensure that the Polish army can defend the country, even in the face of aggression from Russian forces. According to the President, the primary goal of the Polish army should be to prevent the occupation of Poland by the Russian military. The prospect of defeat in Poland, and thus the shame and disgrace of the failure of imperialist ideas, is the only thing that can halt Russian imperialism, noted Andrzej Duda.
